LGV class licence
LGV term refers to any vehicle which is above and beyond motorcycles and standard passenger vehicles.
There are four licence classes (categories) where our theory test is made for:
Category C1
This is for the smallest commercial vehicles weighing between 3.5t and 7.5t MAM (Maximum authorised mass).
The typical Category C1 is a commercial van, horsebox or smaller box trucks.
Category C1+E
This licence class is needed when you drive a commercial vehicle between 3.5 and 7.5 tonnes with a trailer of up to 750 kg in tow.
Category C
This class is designed for large commercial vehicles excess of 7.5 tonnes MAM. For example articulated lorry, tipper truck or bin lorry.
Category C+E
This LGV licence class is for the largest commercial vehicles (excluding coaches and buses which require category D license)
